Warnell Engelbrecht
My name is Warnell Engelbrecht and I am a passionate hard of hearing ultra trail runner. I am from Concordia in the Namaqualand Region in the Northern Cape. I was 5 years old when an unexpected motor accident happened that led to me being deaf. Ever since I've been living with a hard of hearing problem through my life. At times being a hard of hearing person was difficult but it didn't dim my outlook on life.
Why I am so passionate about running?
Because running had given me so many opportunities. Coming from a rural area where opportunities are scare running took me further and broadened my outlook on life. Running have been building my character over the years, it kept me disciplined to not dwell into the wrong things of life and path. It made me see the other side of the world and brought me to people that have had an impact on my life and me on theirs. The more I go forward in life its more clear that my life is a grace that GOD have planned long ago before I know it and that is to use me as hard of hearing person to inspire others with my ability to run and to make a difference in their lives.
Race history
I've been doing the past 16 years some tough races that includes 100miles and 200miles.
Upcoming races
- UTCT 100mile
- Longmore 200mile
Admire Muzopambwa
My name is Admire Muzopambwa and I was born in Zimbabwe. In aid of Race4Grace, I will be running the UTCT 55km race, the Zim Skyrun 100km and the arc of Attrition 100miler in the UK as an athlete ambassador.
My passion for running grew when I moved to South Africa and I was spurred on by others who recognized my talent. I now compete as a professional trail runner in Europe and South Africa.
Running ultra-marathons has taught me the immense value of self discipline, the importance of adopting healthy habits and most of all, the significance of competing for more than myself. I run to bring Glory to God who blessed me with this talent.
